Cuando llegué a Denver, me encantó cómo combina lo moderno con edificios cargados de historia y una arquitectura que invita a caminar. Uno de mis rincones preferidos es el Colorado State Capitol, con su cúpula dorada brillante, ideal para fotos. Después seguí por la 16th Street Mall, una peatonal llena de tiendas, cafés y vida. Muy cerca está Larimer Square, una callecita histórica con edificios victorianos, boutiques y bares que se llenan especialmente en verano.

La Union Station de Denver también me sorprendió: elegante, con ese estilo clásico Beaux-Arts y un ambiente animado entre restaurantes y viajeros. No muy lejos encontré una zona comercial encantadora en la 39th Street, cerca de una universidad, con tiendas locales y una atmósfera relajada.

A poca distancia visité Golden, un pueblito con aire del viejo oeste, cervecerías y mucha historia. También pasé por Boulder, donde, además de las casas en la montaña, se puede visitar el Buffalo Bill Museum en Lookout Mountain y disfrutar de vistas increíbles. No muy lejos está el famoso Red Rocks Amphitheatre, un anfiteatro natural impresionante para conciertos de verano.

Hablando de esquí, cerca de Denver hay pueblos hermosos en plena montaña. Vail es un centro súper selecto, con tiendas sofisticadas y un teleférico ubicado en pleno centro de la villa, desde donde se puede pasar el día esquiando y regresar esquiando al mismo pueblo. Más adelante, Aspen destaca por su historia minera, sus grandes casas de montaña y su encanto clásico.

Los inviernos pueden ser fríos, pero Denver suele tener mucho sol. Con auto, apenas uno sale de la ciudad aparecen paisajes de cuento. Y para quienes disfrutan de las compras, el Cherry Creek Shopping Center ofrece marcas exclusivas y un ambiente elegante.

When I arrived in Denver, I loved how the city blends modern areas with historic buildings and a charming, walkable downtown. One of my favorite spots was the Colorado State Capitol, with its shining golden dome—perfect for photos. From there, I walked along the 16th Street Mall, a lively pedestrian avenue full of shops and cafés. Nearby is Larimer Square, a historic little street with Victorian buildings, boutiques and bars that come alive in the summertime.

Denver Union Station also impressed me with its elegant Beaux-Arts architecture and its cozy mix of restaurants, travelers and a boutique hotel. Not far away, I found a lovely shopping area on 39th Street, close to a university, with independent stores and a relaxed atmosphere.

Just outside the city, I visited Golden, a small town with an old-west feel, local breweries and plenty of history. I also enjoyed Boulder, where you can see beautiful homes tucked into the mountains and visit the Buffalo Bill Museum on Lookout Mountain with stunning views. A short drive away is the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre, an incredible natural venue for summer concerts.

As for skiing, the mountains near Denver are full of charming alpine towns. Vail is a very select ski village with sophisticated shops and a gondola located right in the center, making it possible to spend the whole day on the slopes and ski right back into the village. Farther away, Aspen stands out for its mining history, grand mountain homes and traditional ski-town atmosphere.

Winters can be cold, but Denver enjoys plenty of sunshine. And with a car, magical mountain landscapes appear just minutes outside the city. For shoppers, the Cherry Creek Shopping Center offers exclusive brands and an elegant environment.

Als ich in Denver ankam, mochte ich sofort, wie die Stadt Modernes mit historischen Gebäuden verbindet und dabei ein charmantes, gut begehbares Zentrum bietet. Einer meiner Lieblingsorte war das Colorado State Capitol mit seiner glänzenden goldenen Kuppel – perfekt für Fotos. Danach spazierte ich über die 16th Street Mall, eine belebte Fußgängerzone voller Geschäfte und Cafés. Ganz in der Nähe liegt Larimer Square, eine historische kleine Straße mit viktorianischen Gebäuden, Boutiquen und Bars, die besonders im Sommer voller Leben ist.

Auch der Denver Union Station hat mich beeindruckt – elegante Beaux-Arts-Architektur, Restaurants, Reisende und ein stilvolles Boutique-Hotel. Nicht weit entfernt entdeckte ich ein nettes Einkaufsviertel in der 39th Street, nahe einer Universität, mit kleinen lokalen Läden und entspannter Atmosphäre.

Außerhalb der Stadt besuchte ich Golden, ein kleines Städtchen mit Western-Flair, Brauereien und viel Geschichte. Auch Boulder gefiel mir sehr, mit seinen Häusern in den Bergen und dem Buffalo Bill Museum auf dem Lookout Mountain, von dem man eine fantastische Aussicht hat. Ganz in der Nähe liegt das berühmte Red Rocks Amphitheatre, ein beeindruckendes Naturbühnen-Amphitheater für Sommerkonzerte.

Was das Skifahren betrifft, bieten die Berge bei Denver viele charmante Orte. Vail ist ein sehr exklusives Skidorf mit schicken, hochwertigen Geschäften und einer Gondelbahn direkt im Zentrum, sodass man den ganzen Tag Ski fahren und bis in die Dorfmitte zurückfahren kann. Weiter entfernt liegt Aspen, das mit seiner Bergbaugeschichte, großen Berghäusern und klassischem Skiort-Ambiente beeindruckt.

Die Winter können kalt sein, aber Denver hat meist viel Sonne. Mit dem Auto erreicht man schon nach wenigen Minuten traumhafte Berglandschaften. Für Shopping-Fans bietet das Cherry Creek Shopping Center exklusive Marken und ein elegantes Ambiente.
