🇪🇸 San José del Cabo fue uno de esos lugares que me sorprendió sin esperarlo. A diferencia de Cabo San Lucas, más turístico y movido, esta parte del destino tiene un aire mucho más tranquilo, auténtico y lleno de historia. Está a unos 45 minutos en auto, pero el cambio de ambiente se siente enseguida.

El corazón de la ciudad es su plaza principal, un lugar encantador para caminar sin apuro. Ahí se encuentra la icónica Misión San José del Cabo, una iglesia sencilla pero con mucha presencia, que refleja el pasado colonial del lugar. Alrededor, todo parece girar en torno a esa plaza: familias, música, ferias y ese ritmo pausado tan típico de los pueblos mexicanos.

Las calles que rodean el centro son, simplemente, una postal. Especialmente la calle conocida como Morelos, que suele estar decorada con banderines de colores que cruzan de lado a lado, dándole un aire festivo constante, sobre todo los jueves, aunque muchas veces quedan durante gran parte del año. Caminar por ahí es como meterse en una escena típica de México: colores, texturas y vida en cada rincón.

Las casas tienen ese estilo colonial tan característico, con fachadas coloridas, detalles artesanales y puertas de madera que invitan a entrar. Muchos de estos espacios hoy funcionan como tiendas o galerías, y algo que me encantó es que muchas esconden patios internos llenos de plantas, flores y decoración. Todo muy cuidado, muy estético, muy “instagrammable”, pero sin perder autenticidad.

En estas tiendas encontrás de todo: desde almohadones tejidos, ropa bordada, blusas, polleras, hasta collares, pulseras y artesanías locales. Es el lugar perfecto para llevarse algo distinto, hecho a mano, con identidad mexicana.

Y por supuesto, la gastronomía también tiene su lugar. Hay muchísimos restaurantes donde probar platos típicos, desde tacos hasta propuestas más elaboradas. Algunos muy recomendados son Flora’s Field Kitchen, con una propuesta orgánica en un entorno natural increíble, y La Lupita Taco & Mezcal, ideal para probar tacos con mucho sabor local.

San José del Cabo es eso: un lugar para caminar, mirar, descubrir y disfrutar sin apuro. Un contraste perfecto con otras zonas más turísticas, y sin duda, una parada que vale totalmente la pena.

🇬🇧 San José del Cabo was one of those places that truly surprised me. Unlike Cabo San Lucas, which is more lively and touristy, this area feels much more relaxed, authentic, and rich in history. It’s about a 45-minute drive, but the atmosphere changes completely.

The heart of the town is its main square, a lovely spot to wander around slowly. Right there you’ll find the iconic Misión San José del Cabo, a simple yet beautiful church that reflects the town’s colonial past. Everything seems to revolve around this square—locals, music, small events, and that calm Mexican rhythm.

The surrounding streets are simply picturesque. Especially Morelos Street, often decorated with colorful flags hanging above, creating a festive vibe—particularly on Thursdays, though they often stay up much longer. Walking there feels like stepping into a classic Mexican scene.

The houses have a charming colonial style, with colorful facades, handcrafted details, and wooden doors inviting you in. Many of them are now shops or galleries, and what I loved most is that they often hide beautiful inner courtyards full of plants, flowers, and decorations.

You’ll find everything here: woven pillows, embroidered clothing, blouses, skirts, jewelry, and handmade crafts. It’s the perfect place to take home something unique and authentic.

Food is also a highlight. There are plenty of restaurants offering traditional Mexican dishes. Two great options are Flora’s Field Kitchen, known for its organic cuisine and beautiful setting, and La Lupita Taco & Mezcal, perfect for delicious local tacos.

San José del Cabo is all about slowing down, exploring, and enjoying the atmosphere. A perfect contrast to more touristy areas—and definitely worth visiting.

🇩🇪 San José del Cabo hat mich wirklich überrascht. Im Gegensatz zu Cabo San Lucas, das lebhafter und touristischer ist, wirkt dieser Ort viel ruhiger, authentischer und historischer. Die Fahrt dauert etwa 45 Minuten, aber die Atmosphäre ist komplett anders.

Das Herz der Stadt ist der zentrale Platz, ideal zum entspannten Spazierengehen. Dort befindet sich die bekannte Misión San José del Cabo, eine schlichte, aber sehr schöne Kirche, die die koloniale Geschichte widerspiegelt.

Die Straßen rund um das Zentrum sind einfach wunderschön. Besonders die Calle Morelos, die oft mit bunten Fahnen geschmückt ist und eine festliche Stimmung erzeugt—vor allem donnerstags, aber oft auch länger. Es fühlt sich an wie eine typische mexikanische Szene.

Die Häuser haben einen kolonialen Stil, mit bunten Fassaden, handgefertigten Details und Holztüren. Viele sind heute kleine Geschäfte oder Galerien, oft mit versteckten Innenhöfen voller Pflanzen und Blumen.

Hier findet man alles: Kissen, bestickte Kleidung, Blusen, Röcke, Schmuck und handgemachte Souvenirs. Perfekt, um etwas Einzigartiges mitzunehmen.

Auch kulinarisch hat der Ort viel zu bieten. Sehr empfehlenswert sind Flora’s Field Kitchen und La Lupita Taco & Mezcal.

San José del Cabo ist ein Ort zum Entspannen, Entdecken und Genießen—ein wunderbarer Kontrast zu den belebteren Gegenden.

🇪🇸 Nueva York siempre ofrece nuevas miradas, incluso para quienes la visitamos más de una vez. Hudson Yards muestra su lado más moderno, con rascacielos y el icónico Vessel. Desde Battery Park salen ferris hacia la Statue of Liberty y Staten Island, con vistas al skyline.

Más al norte, destacan la Fifth Avenue, Times Square y Central Park.

Entre los edificios, sobresalen el Empire State Building, el One World Trade Center y el Edge, con su piso de vidrio.

Como toque final, el teleférico a Roosevelt Island y el icónico The Plaza Hotel completan la experiencia.

Further north, Fifth Avenue, Times Square and Central Park stand out.

Among the buildings, the Empire State Building, One World Trade Center and Edge, with its glass floor, are must-sees.

For a different view, the Roosevelt Island tram and the iconic The Plaza Hotel complete the experience.

Tiene museos icónicos, como el de Delta, y grandes espacios verdes.

Centennial Olympic Park y la rueda marcan el centro de la ciudad.

Atlanta también sorprende con lugares icónicos como el World of Coca-Cola, donde se puede conocer la historia de la famosa bebida, y el CNN Center, que durante años permitió asomarse al detrás de escena de uno de los canales de noticias más conocidos del mundo.

Un destino urbano con un poco de todo.

Mi viaje a Hawái me encantó y me sorprendió desde el primer momento. Este archipiélago está formado por varias islas: Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Hawái (Big Island), Molokai y Lanai, además de otras más pequeñas y deshabitadas, mientras que algunas conservan zonas privadas. Yo estuve en Oahu, la isla más animada, donde se encuentran Honolulu y la famosa playa de Waikiki, con su mezcla perfecta de ciudad y mar. En la playa hay un monumento dedicado a Duke Kahanamoku, surfista legendario, que recuerda que el surf nació en Hawái y se practica durante todo el año gracias al clima y a las olas.

Hawái está conectado con el continente, con vuelos directos desde ciudades como Los Ángeles que duran unas cinco o seis horas y operan varias aerolíneas. La isla se puede recorrer cómodamente en auto, pasando de playas a montañas en muy poco tiempo. En Honolulu se destacan los grandes edificios, los restaurantes y una enorme variedad de tiendas: desde marcas de lujo hasta opciones accesibles para todos los gustos. Kalakaua Avenue es la calle principal, llena de hoteles icónicos, y Ala Moana Boulevard recorre la costanera. El Ala Moana Center, uno de los shoppings al aire libre más grandes, es una parada clásica. En el centro histórico se puede visitar el Palacio Iolani, recuerdo de la época en que Hawái fue un reino. Recorriendo la isla también aparecen paisajes increíbles, la plantación de Dole, zonas de resorts como el Aulani Resort de Disney y un detalle curioso: gallinas sueltas caminando por las calles, herencia de antiguas granjas. Como recuerdo típico, vale la pena llevar collares de flores, productos de coco o piña, o artesanías hawaianas.

My trip to Hawaii truly amazed me from the very beginning. This archipelago is made up of several islands: Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Hawaii (the Big Island), Molokai and Lanai, along with smaller uninhabited islands and others with private areas. I stayed on Oahu, the most lively island, home to Honolulu and the famous Waikiki Beach, where city life meets the ocean. On the beach, a monument honors Duke Kahanamoku, a legendary surfer, reminding visitors that surfing was born in Hawaii and can be practiced all year round thanks to the climate and waves.

Hawaii is well connected to the mainland, with direct flights from cities like Los Angeles taking around five to six hours and operated by many airlines. The island is easy to explore by car, moving quickly between beaches and mountains. Honolulu stands out for its tall buildings, restaurants and a wide variety of shops, from luxury brands to more affordable options. Kalakaua Avenue is the main street, lined with iconic hotels, while Ala Moana Boulevard runs along the coast. The Ala Moana Center, one of the largest open-air shopping malls, is a must-see. In the historic center, the Iolani Palace recalls the time when Hawaii was a kingdom. Driving around the island reveals stunning landscapes, the Dole Plantation, resort areas like Disney’s Aulani Resort, and a curious sight: chickens freely walking around the streets, a legacy of old farms. Typical souvenirs include flower leis, coconut or pineapple products, and local Hawaiian crafts.

Meine Reise nach Hawaii hat mich vom ersten Moment an begeistert. Das Archipel besteht aus mehreren Inseln: Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Hawaii (Big Island), Molokai und Lanai, dazu kommen kleinere, unbewohnte Inseln sowie einige mit privaten Bereichen. Ich war auf Oahu, der lebendigsten Insel, auf der sich Honolulu und der berühmte Waikiki Beach befinden, wo Stadt und Meer perfekt zusammenkommen. Am Strand steht ein Denkmal für Duke Kahanamoku, eine Surflegende, das daran erinnert, dass das Surfen in Hawaii entstanden ist und dank Klima und Wellen das ganze Jahr über ausgeübt wird.

Hawaii ist gut an das Festland angebunden, mit Direktflügen von Städten wie Los Angeles, die etwa fünf bis sechs Stunden dauern und von vielen Airlines angeboten werden. Die Insel lässt sich ideal mit dem Auto erkunden, da man schnell von Stränden zu Bergen gelangt. Honolulu beeindruckt mit hohen Gebäuden, Restaurants und einer großen Auswahl an Geschäften – von Luxusmarken bis hin zu erschwinglichen Läden. Die Kalakaua Avenue ist die Hauptstraße mit bekannten Hotels, während der Ala Moana Boulevard entlang der Küste verläuft. Ein Highlight ist das Ala Moana Center, eines der größten Open-Air-Shoppingcenter. Im historischen Zentrum erinnert der Iolani Palace an die Zeit, als Hawaii ein Königreich war. Bei einer Inselrundfahrt entdeckt man traumhafte Landschaften, die Dole Plantation, Resortgebiete wie das Disney-Hotel Aulani Resort und ein kurioses Detail: frei herumlaufende Hühner, ein Überbleibsel alter Farmen. Typische Mitbringsel sind Blumenketten, Produkte aus Kokosnuss oder Ananas sowie hawaiianisches Kunsthandwerk.

Los Ángeles es una ciudad vibrante al sur de California, conocida por su industria cinematográfica, su diversidad cultural y sus infinitas opciones para explorar. El centro de Los Ángeles combina arquitectura moderna con joyas históricas como la estación de trenes y zonas peatonales con encanto. En el corazón de la ciudad vieja está Olvera Street, una calle peatonal animada siempre adornada con banderitas y puestos de comida que reflejan los orígenes del lugar. Caminando por Hollywood Boulevard podés ver el famoso Paseo de la Fama, el teatro chino y el Dolby Theatre, sede de los Oscar, mientras que en las colinas se alza el icónico letrero de Hollywood, originalmente parte de “Hollywoodland”. Muy cerca se encuentra el Capitol Records Building, un punto distintivo del skyline local.

Para disfrutar de comida y ambiente local, el Original Farmers Market ofrece puestos gastronómicos y tiendas desde 1934, y justo al lado está el moderno shopping The Grove, con tiendas, restaurantes, una fuente animada y un tranvía histórico que conecta ambos espacios.   No puede faltar un paseo por Sunset Boulevard o por Beverly Hills y Rodeo Drive, donde el lujo y las boutiques exclusivas definen el barrio, junto con los famosos tours por casas de estrellas. Las atracciones naturales y culturales incluyen el Observatorio Griffith, el Getty Center con su arte y vistas panorámicas, y las cercanas playas de Santa Mónica, Venice o Manhattan Beach. A tan solo un corto viaje están parques temáticos como Disneyland Resort y Universal Studios, mientras que el aeropuerto internacional LAX conecta Los Ángeles con destinos de todo el mundo, convirtiéndola en una base ideal para explorar el sur de California.

Downtown LA mixes modern architecture with historic spots like the train station and charming pedestrian streets. In the heart of the old city, Olvera Street is always lively, decorated with colorful flags and food stalls that reflect the city’s origins. Walking along Hollywood Boulevard, you can see the famous Walk of Fame, the Chinese Theatre and the Dolby Theatre, home of the Oscars, while the iconic Hollywood Sign rises in the hills, originally part of “Hollywoodland.” Nearby stands the distinctive Capitol Records Building.

If you’re looking for food and local atmosphere, the Original Farmers Market offers long-standing food stands and shops, and right next to it is the modern The Grove, with stores, restaurants, a dancing fountain and a historic trolley connecting both areas. A stroll along Sunset Boulevard, Beverly Hills or Rodeo Drive adds a touch of glamour, along with the famous tours that visit celebrity homes. Natural and cultural attractions include the Griffith Observatory, the Getty Center with its art and panoramic views, and nearby beaches like Santa Monica, Venice and Manhattan Beach. A short drive away are major theme parks such as Disneyland Resort and Universal Studios, while LAX Airport connects the city with destinations all over the world, making Los Angeles a perfect base to explore Southern California.

Downtown LA verbindet moderne Architektur mit historischen Gebäuden wie dem Bahnhof und kleinen, charmanten Fußgängerbereichen. Im Herzen der Altstadt liegt Olvera Street, eine bunte Gasse mit Fahnen, Essensständen und einem lebhaften Ambiente, das an die Anfänge der Stadt erinnert. Entlang des Hollywood Boulevard sieht man den berühmten Walk of Fame, das Chinese Theatre und das Dolby Theatre, in dem die Oscars verliehen werden, während das ikonische Hollywood Sign in den Hügeln über der Stadt steht – ursprünglich Teil des Namens „Hollywoodland“. Ein Spaziergang über den Sunset Boulevard, durch Beverly Hills oder entlang der Rodeo Drive bringt eine Prise Glamour, ebenso wie die berühmten Touren zu den Häusern der Stars. Zu den kulturellen und natürlichen Highlights gehören das Griffith Observatory, das Getty Center mit Kunst und Panoramablicken sowie die nahe gelegenen Strände von Santa Monica, Venice und Manhattan Beach. Nur eine kurze Fahrt entfernt liegen große Freizeitparks wie das Disneyland Resort und Universal Studios, während der Flughafen LAX die Stadt mit Reisezielen auf der ganzen Welt verbindet – ideal als Ausgangspunkt, um Südkalifornien zu entdecken.
